Chef Bombay Launches First-Ever Brand Spot - Celebrating 25 Years of Family, Flavour, and Frozen Moments
After 25 years of sharing authentic Indian flavours with families across North America, Chef Bombay is stepping into the spotlight with the launch of our first-ever brand spot, debuting July 9th. The 45-second commercial, along with shorter 30-, 15-, and 6-second cuts, honours the company’s quarter-century journey while capturing the simple truth that “Family times are frozen in time.”
The new campaign marks a major milestone for our company, which was founded in December 1999 by Anis and Noorudin Jiwani. What started with a single samosa has grown into a beloved North American brand, built on family, quality, and a deep respect for authentic Indian cuisine.
That same commitment to authenticity was baked into the brand spot production itself, from casting to kitchen scenes. Ironically, despite a last-minute dash to collect 25 years’ worth of old packaging for the shoot, those samples didn’t make the final cut. “Let’s just say our time management was... ambitious,” joked the marketing team.
Shot on location in Toronto’s Beaches neighborhood on June 7, the brand spot transforms a home into a vibrant, lived-in dinner setting. The cast? Real families, friends, and even members of the Chef Bombay team, no professional actors, just genuine people gathering over good food.
“We’ve launched hundreds of products over the years, grown our team, and expanded numerous times,” said Anis Jiwani. “But we had never shot a brand spot. After 25 years, it felt like the right time to commemorate how far we’ve come. Our goal has always been to feed people, and this spot represents both our journey and our future - you’ll be seeing more of us.”
This campaign is more than a commercial; it's a celebration of legacy and a statement of intent. As Anis and Noorudin Jiwani remain actively involved in daily operations, Chef Bombay continues to lead with heart, flavour, and the belief that food brings families together frozen or not.
The brand spot will be live across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok beginning late July.
Creative Agency, Hunting the Hunter, with writing by Ramiz and production by Junkie Studio, bring the spot to life. Though the production involved over 30 people, all shot in a single day, it retained the intimate, heartfelt energy that defines the Chef Bombay brand.
